Chastity arrived to us off an airplane from Tampa Florida on August 19, 1995. She was only 3 weeks old, and I was going to put all the skills that I had learned about baby birds to the test with her. Hand feeding her was my biggest fear. If I made the food too cold she wouldn't eat it, and if it was too hot it would burn her. There are many of factors involved in hand feeding any bird.

When she was six months old I asked her Vet how old she should be before we try her on people food. He informed us that we could start right away. We loaded up on Gerber Baby food from the store, and a new experience began.

Chastity is 10 years old now and very demanding. We found out when Chastity was about 4 year old that she was a he....Well he knows his name is Chastity, most the time we call him Chas. He loves to watch over our baby birds, in between trying to feed them or boss them around.

Chastity was my very first parrot, he is more then a pet, he is my kid. We have a bond that will never be broken.

Chastity has a long life span she could live to be over 60 years old. So who do you have to take care of something after your gone. That is one of the consideration a person must make when planning on purchasing a parrot. Know who you can count on if something should happen to you. Our daughter Kayla will take Chastity when I can't care for him anymore, it will be easier on Chastity since he grew up with Kayla.
